Okay, so I ended up combining the ideas of karim, Ziz & Taz from SSM. I drilled a hole in the rock, glued it in, used Aves to cover the exposed parts & then put some metal in Spock's foot. Turns out the Aves is a dead ringer for the rock color once dried so I don't have to worry about painting it & Spock's legs sit on the rock really well! I also chopped & repositioned his toes just a bit to get it a bit more flush with the rock's surface.

Some slight but significant mods- assed the clear barrel (which will be trimmed down after painting) & the silver ring around it, added the dials on top, thinned the height of the rear from underneith & added some height to the top rear.

Probably the wrost setback, while baking the Super Sculpy in the crab's body, apparently the brass rods in the legs heated up enough that it cracked all sections of each leg, plus one claw. I managed to superglue most of them back together, but it's now more work to get them back to where they were with puttying & sanding. All in all I think I lost about 3-4 days of work.

I never really realized just how tiny the footprint is for this diorama! With the crab's legs & arms attached, he's almost bigger than the base itself! It'll take some creative positioning to fit it all in!

I worked off this screen grab for painting the bell. I included a flicker bulb inside & drybrushed the exterior. The stripe was hand drawn with an archival ink pen.

The Flying Sub & diving bell both painted up in their final colors. The FS was hit with a rattle can & the bell was hand painted, giving it a more "forged" look.

Since the Flying Sub will be just out of the reach of the crab, the wires will have to go through the claw, the crab shell & down & out a leg to the power source. I cut a channel down the claw tip to feed the wires through the tube I molded into the arm, which will all be puttied up.

Fresh from the oven! In total, there's three baking times in this claw & six pieces sculpted in total. I added the divots by rolling the soft Sculpy over the crab;s shell for a very au natural look!

While at the beach with a buddy, I found this little dude, picked clean bu the seagulls. No legs to be found, but the shell is nearly perfect! I figure I can craft the claws & legs out of Sculpy.

The arem, bodys & heads were all painted seperately. Robin had no body mods, but due to the new, accurate steering wheel, Batman's right arm had to be shortened a smidge & bent in at the elbow. I also puttied over Bat's 6-pack abs as we all know Adam West just wasn't that buff. I also changed the cape at the neck & shoulders to properly reflect the show's costume.

The boat was painted white & then the side was masked off to paint the blue. The kit comes with two sets of flame decals, with the white & without, & here I only used the flame decal itself.

Finished up, I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. I added several modifications to subtly improve the kit. The blue is from a rattle can as well as the white on the side & the scallops on the tail fin. It was a fairly standard build with no real compications.

A composite of all of the modifications & details, from top left to right- The Batradar antenna was replaced with a tight-mesh & bent to the proper shape; the headlights were handpainted yellow; the siren light was tinted red & a "cage" of Bare Metal Foil was made; a clear bow light was made & a circular tie loop was made from wire; the silver vents were solid so I cut them out to make it more realistic; I added flame from the exhaust; another detail shot of Batman- everything was hand painted; closeup of the dashboard where I replaced the CB's molded wire with a real one & the radar is painted with a "blip" on the radar; a closeup shot of Robin, all hand painted.

I printed out the sign after referencing the show. The awning is made from plastic sheet & the stripes are paper cut to length. It's all dirtied up with pastel chalks & clear coated.

And the following Christmas I made this for Pops, a diorma for the truck! More of a "in the spirit of" building, becasue if I built it to full scale the whole thing would have been just a slightly too obnoxious 18" long. But this serves the purpose well. The brickwork is just pastel chalks dusted at the edge of painters' tape to give it a hard & soft edge.

I finished the wall with paints and pastel chalks. The morter lines were made by drawing with the sharp edge of the chalk. Wall damage was added. The Halo figures I found are lego-like & should work well with the dio for their posability.

Starting with a piece of balsa, I measured to scale the bricks and then carved the lines for the morter areas.

After coating the base's top in plaster of paris, I painted the surfaces with three shades of brown, three shades of green, grey, black and white. The gash was put in to help hold in the wall.

Whenever I see something Halo, I think of my little brother, a Halo nut and excellent player, so I decided to make him a little diorama for Christmas. I started with a stained wood base and carved pink foam to the shapes I wanted, leaving a crater's edge for the vehicle to jump off from.

Looking rather dull out of the box, I painted the bad guy black, waited for it to dry a little and wiped him off leaving the black in the recesses. He's secured with a rod into his foot and glued into the base.

The grass flocking was secured down with a mix of Elmer's and water. The shrubbery is ral moss I've collected over the years.

The dirt is a a fine sand I've collected. The tire tracks were made by rolling the vehicle's tires back and forth in a deeper glue/sand mixture.

Checking the seams on the nacelles with primer. I covered the bussards with SIlly Putty to protect them.

I also disabled a classic Klingon ship to board it for some hand-to-hand combat.

I also gave the Enterprise a hand in fighting off some out-of-time Klingon ships. Leonard Nimoy lent his voice to the game, so I "talked with Spock", too.
